Information Technology 

Position Summary:
The IT Support Specialist II performs a variety of technical duties to maintain the County’s network, including but not limited to, computers, printers, mobile devices, and software support, all within the native and virtual environments. At times, this individual will work closely with Programming as well as System Engineers.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels.
  • Provide training and support to end users and IT staff on computer operation and other issues.
  • Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, workstation software.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of PC problems for a variety of end users, and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as well as support via email, phone and Remote Desktop Connection.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or emails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
  • Work with vendors to provide quotes for hardware and software products.

 Essential Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of computer and various peripheral repairs as well as networking technologies. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, and VMWare.
  • Understanding of connectivity amongst all locations regarding cabling, switches, and hubs. 
  • Familiar with wireless technology. 
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must have a computer science degree or certification from a technical school.
  • Must have 3-5 years’ experience in a related field.
