Adult Protective Services
The Somerset County Board of Social Services is the lead agency in the provision of services to vulnerable adults. The goal of the Protective Services Program is to provide “vulnerable adults,” who live in the community, the specific services they need so they can continue to reside in the community free from risk or harm. In all cases, trained Social Workers work directly with the client in ways that both respect the individuals right to self-determination and afford protection.

Aging and Disability Services
A designated  Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC), designed to streamline access to long-term care support services, health promotion, and education.  Links seniors, their caregivers, and adults with disabilities to the programs and services needed to remain independent and active in the community

Fall Cleanup Program
In the fall, the Handyman Program sponsors an annual leaf clean-up. Volunteers of all ages donate their time on a Saturday in November to rake and bag leaves for frail elderly, homebound or disabled residents.

Handyman Program
The Handyman Program provides support services, in the way of minor household repairs, to seniors and disabled citizens of the County. The aim of this program is to allow residents to continue to live safe and independent lives in their own homes.

Home Health Aide Services
The Somerset County Board of Social Services provides Homemaker/Home Health Aide assistance to eligible county residents in need of this service because they are too seriously ill or too disabled to provide basic personal care for themselves.

Project Lifesaver
Persons with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease can be enrolled in a special program that can help locate them if they become missing.  Those enrolled in the program wear a personalized wristband that emits a tracking signal with a unique radio frequency.  This radio frequency allows specially trained Sheriff's Officers  to locate the individual.
