The Somerset Union Soil Conservation District is a special purpose subdivision of the State within the NJ Department of Agriculture. The Somerset Union SCD issues SESC certifications for construction projects exceeding 5,000 square feet of soil disturbance according to the Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Act of NJ. In addition, the district assists landowners, farmers and municipalities addressing stormwater and water quality issues.
The Somerset Union SCD is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am -3:30 pm.

- Provides input on natural resources to local government in evaluation projects.
- Assists landowners by providing information on natural resources.
- Provides technical assistance to engineers in the development of erosion-control plans.
