SOMERVILLE, NJ – Register for the Caregiver Wellness Evening Out, a free event featuring self-care coping techniques and activities for caregivers. The event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Human Services Building (Conference Room 1), 27 Warren St., Somerville, NJ 08876. Attendees must be 60 years or older. Dinner will be provided. Pre-registration is required.
Attendees will learn about stress management, relaxation, and avoiding caregiver burnout, as well as have the opportunity to participate in a yoga class and an art project. There will also be a demonstration on how to use assistive medical equipment given by Public Health Nurse Cristina Lu from the Office on Aging & Disability Services. Lu will discuss how medical equipment can enhance a person’s daily activities, such as walking, eating, transferring, positioning, and gripping.
