Zero Tolerance for Hate | SCNJ

The Somerset County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with Prosecutor's Office, is utilizing a new StopIt app that allows residents who have been a victim of or witnesses to a hate crime to fill out a form with location and incident details. You can anonymously report any bias crime, no matter how small or large.
Roadway Safety Study

The Somerset County Planning Division has launched the Roadway Safety Study, which will help identify opportunities to improve the safety of Somerset County roadways through public input and data analysis. Residents are encouraged to provide comments on vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle safety issues through county’s new online mapping tool.

Somerset County has recently become the first New Jersey county accepted as a member of the AARP Network of Age Friendly States and Communities! As a member of the AARP Network of Age Friendly States and Communities, the county will have an opportunity to establish new partnerships and collaborations, which will help to identify and develop more innovative public service.

Break the Stigma Webinar | Human Services

As human services professionals, it is our goal to eliminate shame, stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health conditions and substance use disorders. In this workshop, Somerset County’s Assistant Mental Health Administrator, Meg Isbitski, LSW, and a panel of esteemed special guests will explore stigma through personal stories and testimonies to:
- Encourage dignity and respect for all residents of Somerset County;
- Help reduce fear of judgment as a barrier;
- Spread awareness throughout your community of influence.
After this workshop, you will come away with valuable insights into yourself and have tools and resources so you can best support others.
