Self Care Webinar:  Renew, Recharge and Reset

Very first virtual event of the Somerset Commission on the Status of Women

Renewing One's Mental and Emotional Health will be presented by Maxine Bradsha PhD, MBA; Med., who is recognized as a top leader for education in the field of mental health. Dr. Bradshaw will provide the audience with guidance for renewing their emotional well-being. Participants will learn how to cope with the quarantine, the recent protests around the nation, and being inundated with violent images in the media. This portion of the seminar will help participants learn how to help prevent damage to their mental health.

Recharge Through Fitness and Nutrition given by Physical Therapy Center of Excellence staff member and Doctor of Physical Therapy Jill Lipari. Dr. Lipari will highlight ways to recharge, get fit and eat nutritiously at home while gyms are closed and one's routine has been altered.

Reset Your Life and Career with Life Coach and Vice-Chair of the Commission Shelly L. Bell, M.A., FDC. Ms. Bell will provide tools to help participants learn how to navigate and prepare for the future after experiencing loss, such as losing a job, a loved one, or an opportunity.

Rebuilding After Covid: Dollars & Sense Webinar

Mental & Emotional Health: Kelly Farrow, Creator & Principal at Circle of Sacred Fire, and Pillar College Professor, will discuss ways individuals can begin to move forward after this difficult time. Minister Farrow will help our community make sense of where we are today and grab a hold of how we can begin to prepare for tomorrow.

COVID & Careers: Jheryn Kenney, Enterprise Sales & Digital Transformation Strategist at LinkedIn, will highlight career strategies that can help people learn how to navigate effectively in a virtual world. Jheryn will provide tips and techniques on rebuilding your career after having been laid off, furloughed, or demoted.

County Resources: Sara Sooy, Freeholder Deputy Director, Somerset County, will review the financial resources and programs offered by the county. Often times, there are many resources and grants available to the community but people don’t know about them. Deputy Director Sooy will be highlighting assistance programs, available resources, and opportunities available for business owners.
