Since it's creation in 2001, the Somerset County Improvement Authority (SCIA) has offered and continues to offer to municipalities and local school districts a mechanism to lower their cost of doing business by providing an alternative funding mechanism for use by the county's local units when there is an opportunity to save taxpayer dollars.

Examples of projects that have benefitted from this shared service initiative can be found on the SCIA Project List to Date.
