USING THE PUBLIC LAND RECORDS SEARCH SITE

 CREATING A FREE ACCOUNT

You must create an account to view images: 

  1. Click Log In (upper right-hand corner of your screen above Clerk Steve Peter)
  2. Register as a new user
  3. Enter your e-mail (this will be your username) and select a password 
  4. You will receive an email with an activation link.  Once you click on that link, log back in with your username and password.

SEARCHING

You can search for documents using these categories:

  • Name
  • Book/Page
  • Instrument Number
  • Legal Description
  • Document Type
  • Consideration
  • Record Date

How do I search by name?

Company Names:  Enter exactly as they are spelled.  For example:  First Bank
Personal Names: Use the last name first and first name last.  For example: Mary A. Jones should be entered as Jones, Mary A.

How do I search by lot and block?
Choose Legal Description and click in the description field.  A pop up will allow you to enter lot and block, municipality and other identifiers.

How do I search by municipality?
Choose Legal Description and click in the description field. description. A pop up will allow you to enter municipality and other identifiers.

VIEWING IMAGES

After you enter your search criteria, your search results will appear. Hover over the document you want to view until it turns grey, then double click to go to the document details.

The documents have an UNOFFICIAL watermark and may be viewed or downloaded for free.

PURCHASING CERTIFIED COPIES

You may purchase a certified copy by clicking Add to Cart. Certification costs $10 per document plus $1 per page. After you check out, you will receive your certified copies via USPS.

FAQS

I found a document but I can’t see the image.  Why not?
Check to be sure that you are logged in to your account.

Which web browsers are supported?
This application works best with modern web browsers. Older versions will not support all functions. Internet Explorer is not supported. 

Why can’t I see records older than 1/1/1977?

We are working to bring these older records online. For now, you can access them in our record room. Call 908-231-7013 for details.

Can I get a plain copy without paying the certification fee?

Plain, uncertified copies are available in person at our record room for a fee of $.07 per page.
