The Somerset County Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team is the lead agency in the County for responding to and mitigating hazardous materials incidents. The team works closely with the Somerset County Department of Health and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) under the County Environmental Health Act (CEHA). The HAZMAT Team will provide technical assistance and field response when requested. The team consists of On-Scene Coordinators, Technicians, and Operational Assistants.
