The Somerset County Incident Support Team (IST) is a team of emergency management personnel with experience in Fire Coordination, EMS Coordination, Health, Hazmat, Law Enforcement, Communications, Search and Rescue, and Emergency Management.

The mission of the County’s IST is to provide management support to the municipalities during incidents or planned events that involves multiple jurisdictions and/or require multiple operational periods.

The Team’s purpose is to ensure that incident documentation complies with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS), incident organization, accountability, and situational awareness. The team is equipped with technology and equipment to efficiently assist with incident organization and develop an Incident Action Plan or other incident documentation. Somerset County IST also as the availability to help provide assistance with collecting damage assessment.
