Public participation is an important component of the hazard mitigation planning process.  Somerset County welcomes your comments and will consider submitted comments as part of future plan updates.  Federal regulations require that local hazard mitigation plans be reviewed, revised as appropriate, and resubmitted for approval on a five-year cycle from the date of initial plan adoption in order to remain eligible for benefits awarded under the DMA 2000.  The current plan expires on March 2025.
