The Consumer Health Section of the Somerset County Department of Health inspect retail establishments on a regular basis in our contracted municipalities to ensure that facilities are in compliance with the laws.

  • Establishment inspections include: body art establishments, child care centers, kennels and pet shops, massage parlors, recreational bathing facilities, retail food establishments,  sewage disposal, tanning facilities, well construction and water analysis, and youth camps/campgrounds.
  • Staff also investigate complaints regarding childhood lead poisoning, public health nuisances, and rabies control. Inspections Icon
