The Engineering Division is part of the Somerset County Department of Public Works. The office is responsible for the design and construction of county roads, traffic signals, bridges, drainage facilities, buildings, and parks. This includes the design and construction of improvements to update and modernize the existing infrastructure and to develop new facilities to improve the level of safety for the general public.
The County Engineer manages 12 sections within the Engineering Division that interact on a daily basis with professional consulting firms, contractors, and other county departments and divisions to implement these improvements. Each of the 12 sections specializes in a specific field of expertise, collectively executing the everyday operation of the division.
