The County of Somerset is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in or denied the benefits of its services on the basis on their disability as provided by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The County of Somerset management, and all supervisors and employees share direct responsibility for carrying out The County of Somerset’s commitment to the ADA.  The County of Somerset Office on Aging and Disability Services ensures accountability in this commitment, and supports all parts of the organization in meeting their respective ADA obligations. The County of Somerset Office on Aging and Disability Services coordinates internally with all appropriate offices in the investigation of complaints of discrimination, and takes a lead role in responding to requests for information about the County of Somerset’s civil rights obligations and operations.

The Somerset County Division of Transportation will make a reasonable attempt to provide additional assistance requested by any passengers with disabilities so as long as the request does not present a direct threat of safety to the passenger(s) and/or the county employee and/or the request does not alter the fundamental transportation services provided by the County of Somerset.

To make a “Reasonable Modification” request you must call the Transportation Division at 908-231-7115 or 1-800-246-0527

Route deviation service is available when conditions allow on a time and space availability.  Passengers requesting to use route deviation must be approved by the Community Transit Supervisor.  You may call the Community Transit Supervisor at 908-231-7151 to request an application be mailed to you, or you may download the application in the link below.:

Passengers requesting to use route deviation are required to fill out the route deviation application.  A completed application may be returned by hand delivery, U.S. Mail, fax, or email.  

Drivers are not permitted to accept or approve route deviation requests.
