2024 Agriculture Day
Join Somerset County on March 22, 2024, for the County’s celebration of National Agriculture Day: The Journey from Farm to Table. Each year, Somerset County celebrates the rich history of agriculture by educating the public about some of the more popular topics in local farming. Check out the Somerset County Agriculture Historic Timeline to learn more about those deep roots!
This year we want to share the exciting journey that our farmers embark on when they begin planting in their fields. From their soil to your spoon – the experience is filled with hard work and dedication to bring our community the freshest and tastiest produce Somerset County farmers have to offer! We hope that each time you bite into an apple, munch on a carrot, or enjoy some summertime sweet corn that you are able to do so with your friends and family – there is nothing better than sharing food with those you care about.
Kick off the day with the launching of the Somerset County Ag Day StoryMap. Learn about what fruits and veggies are available in Somerset County, and when! Visit our Farmer’s Market Map to find the markets near you.
Interested in more ways to celebrate agriculture? Visit Somerset County Library System branches to pick up a children’s activity booklet or to collect all five of our 2024 Edition Ag Day Trading Cards covering everything from our the Jersey Fresh Program to how to preserve your food through the process of canning! Make sure you collect them all!
We hope you will join us as we celebrate 41 years of Farmland Preservation as Somerset County celebrates our farmers and National Ag Day!
