The purpose of County land development review is to provide rules, regulations and standards to guide land development that affects or involves County facilities pursuant to the County Planning Act NJSA 40:27-1 et seq. In addition, land development review provides regulations which ensure that land development within the County is in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Somerset County Master Plan and other adopted County plans, regulations and/or standards.
The County Planning Board is responsible for establishing standards and procedures for assessing land development projects for proportionate share of improvements to County road systems and drainage facilities which are the direct result of, or bear, a rational nexus to the development.
